Building a better community through drug prevention and intervention

  • The Fairfield Prevention Coalition is currently funded through the Federal CARA Grant, but also relies on additional funding sources such as Butler County United Way, Butler County Children & Families, and other local donations.
  • The coalition is a 501 c 3 Nonprofit under the umbrella of the Fairfield City Schools as its fiduciary agent.
  • The Fairfield Youth Coalition is a state and nationally known youth-led group that has been featured in local, state and national media sources for best practices for youth coalitions.
  • Based on the Student Pride Survey, between 2008 and 2020, the Fairfield Prevention Coalition has consistently reduced underage tobacco use, prescription pain medicine misuse, underage alcohol use, and marijuana use for adolescents. 
  • The Fairfield Prevention Coalition is a volunteer, community-based coalition comprised of 12 sectors of the community that meet monthly to review strategies as part of its Community Action Plan to reduce youth substance use.
